As is now tradition here on BTBL, it's about time for a new standard set to drop (Brother's War!) - so lets have a look how the legendary creatures of Dominaria United are doing in Commander, in the Dominaria United Commander awards!
Today's winner with nearly 4,500 decks is Jodah, the Unifier - a combination of Legendary Creature lord (+X/+X for each legendary creature you control) and "Cascade" for legendary creatures (effectively nearly double free mana) gives Jodah decks huge power - the average deck is loaded up with legendary good-stuff creatures (which tend to be powerful anyway) to vomit out onto the battlefield quickly.
In second place with 2,500 decks (quite the drop, but still very respectable), is this set's Simic coloured value pile - Ivy, Gleeful Spellthief. Copying any spell that targets a single creature, but the copy targets Ivy, means the usual issue with "Voltron" decks putting all their eggs in one basket goes away - Ivy goes as tall but WIDER than the usual builds! The average deck is loaded with Mutate and Aura Enchantments, and being Simic coloured, can ramp AND have those annoying blue protection/counter spells at the same time.
Rounding out the top three, and marking the 2000 deck cut off, we have Sheoldred, the Apocalypse - Draw a card, gain two life - your opponent draws a card, they lose 2 life. Group hug and card draw all around! Like fast games? This should certainly speed things up.
Completing the top 5 are Braids, Arisen Nightmare and Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim, both around 1,500 decks - Braids, Arisen Nightmare is all about control - keep the board as clear as possible until you find your win con (Torment of Hailfire anyone?) while Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim is typical Aristocrat lifegain/drain, a death by 1000 cuts strategy, not much new there.

The number we're looking at here is the 75% quartile - 25% of decks for a commander are built to be more expensive than this price (so 75% are less expensive)
Also shown on the chart is the 90% quartile - so only 10% of decks are built to be more expensive than this - if the 90% marker lies outside the thin line, it is classed as an outlier to the data - an unusually high value compared to the rest
Vohar, Vodalian Desecrator and Meria, Scholar of Antiquity are CEDH decks - Vohar is the expected CEDH race to cast Thassa's Oracle, but Meria is...different. A Gruul Stax commander? Interesting. By tapping artifacts for mana, Meria can break parity on many Stax pieces, slowing down the board, but turbo ramping herself.
Stenn, Paranoid Partisan Takes me back to the "good old days" of Dance of the Manse decks in Eldraine standard. Cast a bunch of low mana artifacts, draw through your deck until you hit Dance of the Manse, then smash face with all your resurrected 4/4s. Good times!
75% $$$ | Commander | Expensive Build |
$4,036 | Vohar, Vodalian Desecrator | High Budget Build |
$1,990 | Meria, Scholar of Antiquity | High Budget Build |

Using the EDHRec salt scores to rank our SNC Commanders, (Basically, this means the most maddening decks to play against - depending on what type of person you are, that might just mean the most fun to play)
There's no suprise we get a deck including blue in 4 of the 5 top slots - it's counterspells galore for Stenn, Paranoid Partisan!
Sheoldred, the Apocalypse is a punisher deck - play magic and draw cards, get punished by losing life - it never stops, or slows down. Play this deck if you hate having friends.
Jodah, the Unifier looks to be just...good stuff.deck - Too much salt inducing good stuff, full of powerful ETB triggers, and typically hated commanders like Uro, Thrasios, Kenrith, Omnath - they're all here! This is the ultimate show off deck.
